Karnataka has something to offer for all kind of tourists ranging from rich cultural heritage, religious hot spots, scenic flora and fauna, magnificent monuments and serene beaches. Karnataka is a state that can be classified to be a contrasting state with beautiful palaces and temples as well as huge concrete structures that can be called as marvel of modern engineering.

The state government is running on a war footing to develop the state as a tourist hub. In 2002, the Karnataka state government has decided to give special treatment to entrepreneurs for developing tourism in state. Growing number of travellers prefer to visit the state as the tourism infrastructure is apt and keeping pace with time. The state already has air strips in Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore, Bidar, Hubli and Belgaum and air strips in more regions are under planning. 

Karnataka has manifold tourist attractions that would be of interest to travellers from different age groups and segments. The plethora of tourist attractions start from places such as Hampi, Belgaum, Bidar that are important Hindu religious centers in South India. Nature and wildlife lovers would also find plenty in the state with some of the best sanctuaries including Bandipur wildlife sanctuary, Nagarhole sanctuary, and Ranganathittu Bird’s sanctuary being here. There are also a great treat for history lovers in Karnataka at places like Srirangapatna, Mysore, Hampi, and Aihole.

Travellers looking for enjoying nature can find paradise in Karnataka with travel destinations like Coorg, Gokarna beach, and Karwar beach. The churches of Mysore, Mangalore, Bangalore and Bijapur indicate the contribution of Christians to the great heritage of Karnataka.
